On 5–6 August 2026, the Bali Indah complex at Dolina Charlotty will become the venue for a unique event of international significance. For the first time in Poland, a solemn ceremony of consecrating the Vishnu Temple will take place, conducted according to the centuries-old tradition of Balinese Hinduism by priests who have come directly from the island of Bali.
The event will be attended by official delegations from Indonesia, representatives of national and local government administrations, embassies, academic circles, business communities, and cultural institutions. It will be an extraordinary opportunity to meet two cultures and highlight the developing cooperation between Poland and Indonesia.
Vishnu Temple Consecration Ceremony
The most important point of the event will be the solemn consecration ceremony (Melaspas) – one of the most important rituals in Balinese Hinduism. It is a multi-stage purification and blessing ritual, through which the temple acquires its spiritual dimension and becomes a place of prayer, reflection, and learning about Balinese culture.
The ceremony will be conducted according to the traditional rules in force on Bali. The priests will use holy water, ritual offerings of flowers, fruits, and rice, incense, as well as traditional prayers and mantras passed down through generations. They will be accompanied by the characteristic sounds of Balinese music and ceremonial costumes, allowing participants to experience the authentic atmosphere of Balinese religious ceremonies.
The consecration of the Vishnu Temple will be exceptional not only because of its religious character but also as a symbol of mutual respect, intercultural dialogue, and friendship connecting Poland and Indonesia.
Vishnu Temple
The temple located in the Bali Indah complex was made by Indonesian craftsmen using traditional techniques and architectural elements characteristic of the island of Bali. Its construction was made possible thanks to cooperation between Polish and Indonesian partners and the involvement of numerous artists and specialists.
After the completion of the consecration ceremony, the temple will become an integral part of the Bali Indah complex – a place presenting the spiritual and cultural heritage of Indonesia as well as a space for education, learning about Balinese traditions, and organizing cultural events.
Event Program
Participants can look forward to numerous attractions prepared jointly with artists and guests from Indonesia, including:
- the solemn ceremony of consecration of the Vishnu Temple,
- traditional dance and music performances from Bali and the East Nusa Tenggara province,
- workshops on batik, sculpture, painting, and Balinese musical instruments,
- meetings with Balinese artists, lecturers, and representatives of Indonesian institutions,
- guided tours of the Bali Indah complex,
- presentations of Indonesian culture, art, and traditional crafts.
Meeting of Cultures
The consecration ceremony will not only be a religious event but also a celebration of culture and mutual understanding. It is a unique opportunity to see authentic Balinese rituals, meet people who nurture centuries-old traditions daily, and participate in an event taking place in Poland on such a scale for the first time.
From its inception, Bali Indah was created as a place to build bridges between cultures. The ceremony of consecrating the Vishnu Temple will be the symbolic culmination of this project and will open a new chapter in the complex’s activities as a space for education, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
